Edward is leaving Gambit Gaming
Today for the very first time we have come across a substitution in a team that hasn't changed its roster for one and a half years. Edward "Edward" Abgaryan has decided to leave Gambit Gaming. The reasoning behind his decision can be found in the commentary displayed below.
Edward "Edward" Abgaryan: "Perhaps, the main reason for this uneasy decision was the lack of understanding between myself and Evgeny "Genja" Andryushin. Though we have played together for more than a year, we failed to adopt to each another. Secondly, I am not enjoying the atmosphere within the team anymore. Presumably, it is an outcome of our underperformance in 2013. Consequently, I have decided to leave Gambit Gaming. I wish the best of luck to my former teammates and hope to face them at the pro scene, as competitors."
With only eleven days left until the start of LCS EU Summer, we have begun to search for candidates for a vacant support role. As of now we haven't signed a new player, but we have started practicing with Andrey "Darker" Plechistov. Should we manage to prepare his visa in time, he is going to represent us at LCS EU DreamHack - the first stop of LCS EU Summer, taking place in Sweden from 15th to 17th of June. Andrey is by no means a newcomer to the competitive scene - some of you may remember him as member of MTG, playing alongside Darien, Genja and Alex Ich. Only in a couple of weeks from now we will be able to announce who is going to become a permanent part of our roster.
On behalf of Gambit Gaming we would like to thank Edward for an invaluable contribution to the development and the success of our team. Moreover, we would like to wish him the best of luck in his future endeavours.
Konstantin "groove" Pikiner: "I've always been and always will be against roster changes in a team that is capable of winning, since every team has difficult moments, and, in my view, substitutions are only temporary measures. That is why for one and a half years we have played with the same roster, but sometimes substitutions are just unavoidable. Today Edward made a decision to leave Gambit, it is a big loss for our team. I respect him as a person and as a player. His status of one of the best supports in the world is well deserved. Edward 선수가 본문에 밝힌내용에 따르면 원딜인 겐자와의 커뮤니케이션 문제가 있었고 서로 스타일을 맞추는데 실패했다고 합니다. 그리고 더이상 겜빗게이밍에서 게임을 하는걸 즐기지 못하게 되었고 겜빗을 떠나기로 결정하였다고 합니다.
EU LCS 써머가 이제 11일 남은 가운데 아직 겜빗게이밍에서 공식적으로 영입한 서포트는 없지만 Andrey "Darker" Plechistov 선수가 지금 EU LCS DreamHack을 대비하여 연습을 같이하고있다고 합니다. 공식적인 서포트 영입은 아마 몇주후에나 나올듯 합니다.
쓰레쉬 프린스라고 불리우며 알렉스이치와 다이아몬드프록스와 함께 겜빗에서 가장 많은 사랑을 받았던 선수인데 이렇게 팀을 떠나서 레딧에서 많은 팬들이 아쉬워하고있습니다. EU LCS 새 시즌이 얼마 남지않은 가운데 과연 겜빗이 에드워드 없이도 강자의 면모를 보여줄 수 있을지 기대됩니다.
